Keele Graduate Placement Scheme

The Keele Graduate Placement Scheme is designed to help businesses complete short term projects that they otherwise would not have the staff or skills to carry out and to provide quality graduates with the opportunity to expand their practical skills base and gain vital experience in the world of work.

Each placement is generally of 10 weeks duration. This timescale can, however, be altered to fit the specific project requirements of each business, the minimum number of weeks being 6 and the maximum being 12.

How much will it cost?

The cost to the company is £240 per week, invoiced directly from Keele University. The graduate would not, at any time, be an employee of the business. The £180 per week they will receive is a training bursary and would be paid to them through the university.

How is the graduate selected?

Each placement project is advertised through the Keele Careers Service, the Keele in Business web site, HE Full Circle and Graduate Advantage to ensure that we reach as wide a range of graduates as possible. The applications are initially reviewed by us, to ensure the shortlist of graduates sent to the company is fully relevant and then the company can select the graduate they feel will best help them. We can assist in this process by hosting and helping organise interviews if the company required this.

How does my business access the scheme?

Businesses wishing to utilise this scheme will need to complete and return the Company Application Form.
It is recomended that you contact Dee prior to filling in the form to ensure that the Keele Graduate Placement Scheme is right for your business.

How do graduates apply for a placement?

Graduates wishing to be considered for a Keele Placement must have achieved at least a 2:1 in their degree. Graduates do not have to wait until they see a vacancy which interests them before contacting Keele University; they can register their interest by completing the Graduate Application form and return it to Dee Frankish. Graduates will then be directly informed of all placement opportunities as soon as they arise.
